I am a versatile artist who utilizes photography to explore the fascinating world around us. From each camera angle, I look for the hidden story within my chosen subjects. Capturing the essence of a forgotten landscape or looking into the eyes of interesting people, my passion is to reveal the heart behind the shadows and light in each picture.
Photography reminds me to live in the moment while seeking to understand what lies in front of me. As an artist, portraying people, objects and landscapes through the eye of the camera displays how remarkable each story is. To reveal the story behind the initial façade and to create a response from my audience brings me great pleasure. While exploring the nuances of time and space, I hope to engage the viewer in self-reflection and wonder. Photography allows me to showcase reality and present the abstract as a means of self-expression.
ARTIST STATEMENT
One can easily get away with simply following the basic photographic rules and standards. However, photography is not only a learned skill. It requires something more. In order to create something with outstanding distinction, intuition is the key. My photography is very Intuitive in the sense that I go against the crowd, I strike out with my own ideas, I imagine something new and create it. I feel no need to stick with one type of photography. I am a versatile photographer, I love taking pictures of all different types of subject matter and don’t find myself limited to any single realm. I am always branching out to see what I can do with diverse subjects. Finding new angles and features for my photography, embracing subtle emotions, finding moments and concepts that compels me and hence releasing my creativity. My photographs may look very different from each other, with different subjects, different settings, and different color profiles, but they are share the same feature: a moment worth not forgetting. It’s less about capturing and more about creating an impression thus arresting the attention of the observer.
